Character Essay
Rafiki and Abu, these were the two names of characters I found the most common ground with. Both of these Disney characters are not leading rolls but are still vital to there story lines. I found common ground with them not simply through there attributes as a character but they’re behaviors through out the movies.
In the Lion King, Rafiki is a trusted advisor to Mufasa and after his fall he remained a kind soul, and kept his spirit when it came time to lend a hand to his old friend’s son, he did so. He also embarked wisdom when wisdom was needed and guidance if asked for.
I always try to give my friends a helping hand, keep a positive attitude and give wisdom when wisdom is needed, weather I actually have any or not. Just some inspiring words can go along way.
Abu plays a much more stable character acting as Aladdin’s closest friend and confidant he is there through the up’s and the downs always chilling and enjoying life. He also gets Aladdin in or out of trouble, sticks with him through all of his adventures and points his friends in the right direction whenever he can. I most closely related to Abu through his every day care free attitude, ready for adventure after adventure. Abu is never not on board, always just going with the flow.
They’re shared attributes are loyalty, friendship, compassion, stress free, and playful. All things I have either been told I have or see in myself. These two charecters are more key then the average sidekick with loads of personality. Always keeping tabs on the bigger picture and looking out for the ones they care about. All the while not stressing about the little things and laughing about all things. This is the type of person I try to be and most strongly relate to.
